Questions & Answers
What is CVS iSave?
CVS iSave is a type of discount dental plan. This type of plan is an alternative to basic dental insurance. With a discount plan, you pay a low annual fee to get discounts on your dental care of up to 60%.
So for example, if an adult teeth cleaning is $195, you can show your dental discount membership card and pay only $56. That’s about a 71% savings. Sounds great, right?
I already have dental insurance. Am I still able to get a discount plan?
Yes! You can still get a discount dental plan if you have insurance.
However, you can only use your discount plan after you’ve reached the annual maximum spending limit on your dental insurance policy (according to insurance rules). Also, you won’t be able to apply both your dental insurance and your discount plan to pay for a single dental procedure (according to insurance rules).
If you’d like more info on this subject, your dentist should be able to help.
How many times can I use my membership card for discounts?
As many as you want. There are no limits on how many times you can save on dental care using a discount plan. Just show your membership card at every dental visit and get a discount every time.
So there’s no paperwork at all?
Correct. You won’t need to complete any paperwork because the whole signup process is done online. Plus, there’s no need to file claims because the discount is applied at the time of your visit (and discount plans are NOT insurance).
Where can I use a dental discount plan?
At any participating dental professional. To see what professionals are in the network, use iSave’s’s search tool (choose the “Find Dentists” option).
What if my dentist is not in the network?
Then you won’t be able to get a discount through your discount plan. But if your dentist wants to join the network, they can simply call :DentalPlans at 1-844-473-9852.
What’s a fee schedule?
A fee schedule is a just list of fees that a dentist will charge for each dental service. So if you have a discount plan, you’d be getting a discount on those fees.
The fee schedule also makes it easier for the dentist to bill the insurance company, if you were to use dental insurance.
What about special dental services, like dentures and dental implants? Are those covered by a discount plan?
Most likely. A discount plan may be able to cover procedures like dental implants, cosmetic procedures, braces, and veneers.
For the specifics on this, you can contact :DentalPlans’ Customer Service Department at 1-844-473-9852.
Do dentists in the network lose money by accepting discount plans?
Per procedure, theoretically yes. But in the big picture, they actually can make more money than if all of their patients used dental insurance. Dentists in the network find that they attract more customers if they offer discounts, which would counteract the discounts they give to patients.
Am I able to save more money on top of having a discount plan?
Yes, because you’re an Authority Dental reader, you can use our special code AUTH10 when you check out and you’ll get 10% off and two months free.
What if I need a refund?
DentalPlans.com offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for all plans (they don’t refund the $20 processing fee.
If you have more questions on this, you can call :DentalPlans 1-844-473-9852 or read their Refund And Cancellation Policy.
